Psychotherapeutic Work

In more long-term psychotherapeutic work. I work with clients to gain a deeper understanding,

of any core unmet biopsychosocial or developmental needs. Core unmet needs as such, can linger,

re-surface, and be triggered in ways that adult reactions catch one by surprise.

The Inner Child never ceases to hope and long for their needs to be met.

Background

With a background in Applied Linguistics and as a Second-Language speaker, I've come to deeply appreciate the complexity of what comes together to make us who we are today. Social, cross-cultural, ethnic, religious, and socio-economic factors have been and continue to be well understood and studied. This background has helped inform how I see the tapestry of the human that is today. I'd like to believe, I hold this intricately woven tapestry of one's life gently, and empathically. It's not until this tapestry's threads can be seen in their workings, often from the back of the artwork, that one may get to truly see, and possibly, partially understand, what makes them who they are today.

Why do I do this work?

It has felt that counseling has always been part of my DNA, not merely a profession but a way of being.

People's stories inspire me, teach me, humble me, and enrich my understanding of the human spirit.

I learn something new from every client, always in awe of the courage it takes for some to tell their story.

Helping others find Hope and holding space for them to do so, as they dare to see through the fog,

or dare to get up, yet again, is deeply rewarding and meaningful for me.

" There are far better things ahead than any we leave behind."

C.S Lewis.

Today, I hope you can be encouraged to know;

In the Chapter ahead - You have a Choice!  You have Influence!

May you dare to believe C.S Lewis's quote above.
